Among the many million admirers that 'K.G.F: Chapter 2' has amassed, filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma's name is certain to be somewhere at the top of the list. RGV's praise for the film has been nothing but unequivocal and to further strengthen his stance, he has repeatedly stated that the film is a rare phenomenon. In the same spirit, the 'Dangerous' filmmaker took to Twitter once again to speak of the cultural impact of 'KGF: Chapter 2' and how the film has jeopardized Bollywood's growth.
"I think KGF 2 is like an enormous tree under whose shadow, no tree seems to be growing," read the first tweet. Indeed, RGV's been quite smitten by director Prashanth Neel's grand vision and he makes no qualms about voicing it. But the "tree metaphor" wasn't the only one as Varma then compared the Yash starrer to a looming dark cloud that is casting a rather ominous shadow on all the upcoming big releases.
"KGF 2 is like a large dark cloud casting a doomsday shadow on all the other big films and the black clouds torrential collections are draining all other stars and star directors," wrote RGV in his second tweet and would soon follow that up with a quicksand reference and say that the film is "just swallowing up all old fashioned biggies".
As far as the wider cultural impact of KGF 2 is concerned, Ram Gopal Varma had previously stated the film's success has induced envy among the Hindi actors. Weighing in on the recent Twitter spat between Ajay Devgn and Kiccha Sudeep over the language row, Varma had pointed out that the stellar box office performance of the Hindi version of Chapter 2', which outdid many bonafide Bollywood releases, was a factor of concern for the Hindi Film Industry. In a tweet shared only a few hours ago, he took a proper jibe and said that Bollywood should soon be making films only for OTT!
