Bombay HC withdraws FIR against Mika Singh filed by Rakhi Sawant for kissing her forcefully, actress says ‘abhi woh mera dost hai’

The FIR and chargesheet that actor Rakhi Sawant filed against singer Mika Singh for kissing her in 2006 at his birthday party were dismissed by the Bombay High Court. Along with Singh, Vikky Singh, a former colleague of Singh, also petitioned the high court with Sawant's approval to have the FIR quashed. Rakhi Sawant agreed to the quashing of the FIR and chargesheet.

Following Rakhi's approval, the case was dismissed, and her attorney didn't object to the plea. After dropping the accusations, Rakhi stated that she and Mika are on friendly terms and that they are now friends.

Rakhi told ETimes TV, “Mika had become my well-wisher. Abhi woh mera dost hai. He calls up and talks very nicely to me. Kitne din ladte rahenge? I don’t want to die with the burden of clashes with people. Abhi life mein aage jana hai mujhe.”

Mika was accused of violating Indian Penal Code (IPC) Sections 354 (molestation) and 323 (assault). He requested the High Court to dismiss the police's FIR and chargesheet earlier in April. Following Rakhi's affidavit, which indicated that they had settled their disputes amicably, the HC then recognised the same.

In a one-page affidavit, Advocate Ayush Pasbola, who represented Rakhi Sawant, said, “On the basis of my complaint dated 11.06.2006, the Oshiwara police station had registered an FIR against petitioners for the commission of offences punishable under sections 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) read with 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code. Subsequent to the registration of the FIR, and over a period of time, the petitioners and I have amicably resolved all our differences and realised that the entire dispute had arisen due to misunderstanding and misconception on our part.”
