Bonny Sengupta to work on Gang War film

Actor Bonny Sengupta is busy with work. Director Dwaipayan M is making a new film named Anthony. It deals with gang lords. Bonny will play the protagonist. Many other Tollywood actors will be in the film. 

Talking about the film, Dwaipayan said, “While it deals with the Mafia, the film is, in fact, a love story. Bonny plays the head of the crime branch.” People watched Shibpur last year. Dev announced his film Khadaan in 2024. But Dwaipayan claimed that his film is different. “There can be similarities between the Mafia groups’ acts. However, I did not write the script based on a real event. Marlon Brando’s film Godfather was my inspiration,” he said. 

Newcomer Subhanki Dhar will pair up with Bonny. It is her film debut. Deblina Kumar and Pia Sengupta will play two important roles. The director is talking to Rajatava Dutta and Gaurav Chakrabarty for two other characters. However, the theatre actor Goutam Das will play the Titular Role. Dwaipayan said, “All I can say is that his acting will stun the audience.” 

The shooting will take place in Kolkata, Sikkim, Asansol, and Bankura. The film will be produced by Jyoti Films International and S S Pictures. The shooting may start in February.
