Bougainvillea, the psychological thriller directed by cinematographer-turned-director Amal Neerad, had its theatrical release in October 2024. Kunchacko Boban and Jyothirmayi have played the lead roles in the film, which features Fahadh Faasil in a cameo appearance. After a long wait, Bougainvillea is finally all set to have its OTT release, in December 2024. As per the latest updates, Amal Neerad’s film is slated to be streamed on the popular OTT platform Sony LIV.
Bougainvillea OTT release date revealed
As per the latest updates, Bougainvillea will have its OTT release on Sony LIV, on December 13, 2024. “Every petal tells a story, every twist leaves you guessing. #Bougaivillea blooms this 13th December only on Sony LIV,” reads the OTT platform’s Instagram post. It is now safe to assume that Bougainvillea will make its OTT debut on the platform at midnight on Friday, December 13, 2024, in five languages including Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi. The viewers can also stream the film, on OTT play Premium.
Bougainvillea: Plot, cast, and crew
The psychological thriller revolves around the life of Reethu, a woman who suffers from retrograde amnesia, and her supportive husband, Dr. Royce Thomas. The couple’s life turns upside down after Reethu becomes the prime suspect in a missing case investigation, headlined by cop David Koshy IPS. Kunchacko Boban and Jyothirmayi play Dr Royce Thomas and Reethu respectively in the film, while Fahadh Faasil makes a cameo appearance as David Koshy, the cop.

The movie is jointly scripted by Lajo Jose and director Amal Neerad, himself. Sharaf U Dheen, Srindaa, Veena Nandakumar, Shobi Thilakan, Jinu Joseph, Athira Patel, Vijilesh Karayad, Nisthar Sait, and others essay supporting roles in the film. Sushin Shyam composed the songs and original score. Anend C Chandran is the director of photography. Vivek Harshan handled the editing. Bougainvillea is jointly produced by Jyothirmayi and Kunchacko Boban, under the banners Amal Neerad Productions and Udaya Pictures.
