SS Rajamouli's mammoth epic of a film RRR was finally released in theatres across the country on March 25. This was two weeks after the release of a comparatively small-budget film titled The Kashmir Files directed by Vivek Agnihotri. While RRR opened to phenomenal figures at the ticket windows on day one, The Kashmir Files had a relatively slow start on its first day. But the Vivek Agnihotri film steadily picked up the pace and has managed to cross the coveted Rs 200 crore mark at the box office after two weeks of its release.
The first-day box office collections of RRR in Hindi are in too. So let's take a look at the day one box office figures of both films. As mentioned earlier, The Kashmir Files had a slow start and managed to rake in a total of Rs 3.55 crore on day one. However, terrific word of mouth and the constant buzz around the film's subject kept the audiences intrigued and ensured an increase in the footfalls in the following days. This helped the film cross the Rs 200 crore mark in the next two weeks.
As per the early estimates by trade analyst Ramesh Bala, RRR (Hindi) all India day one collection stands at Rs 18 crore. The film has opened to fantastic reviews both from the audiences and the critics and it is expected to see a massive jump in the collections over the weekend. If recent reports are to be believed, the overall nationwide box office collections of RRR across all languages have surpassed Rs 130 crore which is an all-time record for day one collections in India.
SS Rajamouli's magnum opus RRR stars Ram Charan and Jr NTR in the leads. The film also features Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn in significant roles. Riding high on praises from all across the globe, it'll be interesting to see how much RRR rakes in on day two and where it lands in terms of its first weekend collections.
