Telugu audiences encourage films from different languages and the love for Malayalam cinema has grown by leaps and bounds in the last few years. It all started with films Bangalore Days and Premam which were solid hits in Telugu states as well. The youth watched the Malayalam versions with joy and a film like Nivin Pauly-starrer Premam ran over 50 days in Hyderabad.

Now, the culture has caught on quite well and Malayalam films are getting direct release in Hyderabad. The latest example is Mammootty's Bramayugam and the romantic comedy Premalu which have caught the attention of many. Both these films were released on February 15, 2024, in Hyderabad and are going strong.

As per the latest box office update, several multiplexes have added extra shows for these films which are attracting decent crowds. As the buzz for these films is also high on social media, many want to watch the original versions with subtitles.

One of the leading multiplexes, Prasads is seeing solid occupancy for these films. But the one that is drawing the most attention is the romantic comedy Premalu. As the film is also set in Hyderabad, the posters and promos have created a decent buzz for this film.

One of the employees from a multiplex tells us that there is a sudden rise in the ticket sales of Premalu and they were forced to increase the shows. The romantic drama is co-written and directed by Girish A. D. The film stars Naslen K. Gafoor and Mamitha Baiju in the lead roles. It also features Shyam Mohan M, Meenakshi Raveendran, Akhila Bhargavan, Althaf Salim, Mathew Thomas, and Sangeet Pratap.

On the other hand, Bramayugam is a dark fantasy horror thriller film directed by Rahul Sadasivan and jointly produced by Night Shift Studios and YNOT Studios. It is inspired by stories of witchcraft from Aithihyamala and a character known as Kodumon Potti. Apart from Mammootty, the film also features Arjun Ashokan and Sidharth Bharathan in pivotal roles
