If you are a typical action-thriller fan, we bet you would love to watch Boy Kills World. The English action drama is set to make its India debut after making its World Premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2023. Boy Kills World made its theatrical release in the US in April 2024. For the unversed, even a spin-off video game named, Super Dragon Punch Force 3, was released in April, and an animated series is currently in development.
The English action-thriller, Boy Kills World will be released on Lionsgate Play, on December 20, 2024. Interestingly, Indian audiences will also be able to watch the movie through OTTplay Premium. Directed by Moritz Mohr, Boy Kills World features Bill Skarsgård as the Boy, and Jessica Rothe, Michelle Dockery, Brett Gelman, Isaiah Mustafa, Yayan Ruhian, Andrew Koji, Sharlto Copley, H. Jon Benjamin, and Famke Janssen in pivotal roles.
The Boy is like a whirlwind of chaos, always causing trouble. He has been rigorously training to assassinate Hilda Van Der Koy, a cruel and bloodthirsty woman, to avenge the brutal deaths of his whole family. His sister, even though she's no longer alive, seems to guide him with her playful and mischievous spirit. As Boy gets closer to Hilda, he constantly discovers shocking and surprising truths that he never expected. Will Boy be able to fulfil his vengeance?
In an interview with GamesRadar+ and the Inside Total Film podcast, back in the beginning of 2024, before Boy Kills World’s theatrical release, director Moritz Mohr shared some amazing facts about the movie. He revealed that actor Bill Skarsgård was not the first choice for the lead role of Boy. In fact, they were not even sure whether Skarsgård would like to work in an action drama or not.
“I saw him obviously in the It movies and a couple more movies and I was like, 'Yeah, fantastic actor,' but I would be lying if I told you I was pointing at him going like, 'Yeah, he needs to be the next action guy’.”, Mohr shared. "I didn't even know he was interested in that, and we were looking at one point at action guys. Who can do a lot of the action themselves? So, we don't have to double everything, and it was coming from a very practical side and somebody suggested Bill, I was like, 'Well, would he do it?’.”
