Brahmastra is undoubtedly one of the biggest releases of the year 2022, and the big-budget movie has generated so much buzz about its unique content that when Ayan Mukerji—who was in New Delhi on Wednesday (September 7) for a press conference along with Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor—mentioned he wanted to do something special for Delhi because he 'owes it' to them, the crowd giggled in unison.
Ayan, with Alia and Ranbir in attendence, showed five separate footages of the film: one was of the conceptualisation of the film and how it came into being, another two were songs Kesariya and Deva Deva, and then we had the two never-seen-clips. One was of Ranbir Kapoor and the other was a crucial scene from the film that left everyone excited and hooting for the team's collective efforts.
HERE'S WHAT WE THINK:
The impression we got once the press conference had started was that the trio was heavily invested and their intense level of involment, of course, was palpable. From Alia now being a 'trade analyst' as the advance bookings for the movie has set new records in Bollywood to Ayan wanting to be a younger Steven Spielberg and James Cameron in one, Brahmastra is one movie that this creative bunch is counting on. And, for the right reasons.
Out of respect for Ayan Mukerji and Alia Bhatt, who had requested us to write about the exclusive footage 'without any spoilers', we can only tell you that the bits we saw absolutely blew our minds. Firstly, the VXF work was top-notch in a way that Bollywood has not witnessed before; as if we were in an MCU movie with Indian actors in it. Secondly, the sizzling chemistry between the real life couple, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor, reflected on screen and made those exclusive clips seem effortless in terms of team work.
Ayan, who has spent over 10 years trying to create this 'universe that we have otherwise been seeing in Hollywood movies', has rendered complete justice to the kind of hype Brahmastra has been creating thus far.
What made the press conference all the more interesting was Alia and Ranbir finishing each other's sentences, and Alia's special ode to New Delhi in the form of an impromtu rendition of Kesariya. Watch our exclusive footage of that here:
Brahmastra, despite the controversies and aprrehensions, is sure to fire you all up.
