Ever since the release of Brahmastra on September 9, Mouni Roy is being showered with compliments for her evil act as the greedy Junoon both by fans and critics alike.

Speaking about thsi outpour of love, Mouni Roy said in a media statement, "Brahmastra is not just a film but an emotion which I will cherish for the rest of my life. As a team, we all tried our best to tell a different story and offer something new and out of this world to the audience and I am truly overwhelmed with the amazing response the film and my character has been receiving. I had dedicated myself thoroughly for my role Junoon and I am glad the patience has paid off."

The film had a grand opening day at the box office with 35-36 crore nett (all languages included), which is the highest opening day in history on a non holiday for original Hindi content, reports Box Office India. And the only other film to do more on a non-holiday was Bahubali - The Conclusion.

Brahmastra is predicted to collect around 32-33 crore nett in Hindi, and an additional three crore nett coming in regional languages. the first part of this multiverse trilogy has raked in good numbers in the Telugu belt in comparison to other Hindi films. It may end up collecting around 9-10 crore nett in South India, thus making a record for a Hindi film though obviously a far bigger release than other Hindi films.

Meanwhile, Mouni Roy's played a negative role in the past in a TV series called Naagin.
