Finally, after several years, Ayan Mukerji has wrapped the shoot of his much-anticipated film, Brahmastra. The film, featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles, completed its filming in Varanasi recently. Mukerji took to his Instagram page and shared a photo of himself posing with Ranbir and Alia after seeking blessings at Kashi Vishwanath Mandir. The filmmaker also posted a photo of the couple from the sets after shooting for a song sequence on a boat.
With the photos, Ayan penned, "And finally, it’s a wrap! It's been five years since we took our first shot at Brahmāstra, and we’ve finally filmed our last one! This is an absolutely incredible, challenging, once-in-a-lifetime journey!!! It was by some hand of destiny that we finished the shooting of Part One: Shiva."
The Wake Up Sid Helmer also wrote, "In Varanasi, a city infused with the spirit of Shiv Bhagwan, and that too, at the most sacred Kashi Vishwanath Mandir, allowing us to finish in an atmosphere of purity, joy, and blessings." Exciting days ahead, last lap ahead! 09.09.2022: Here we come!"
Even Alia shared a similar post on her Instagram page and wrote, "We started shooting in 2018. And now... finally... the filming of Brahmastra (Part One) comes to an end!!! I’ve been wanting to say this for such a long time. It's a wrap!!! See you at the cinemas. 09.09.2022."
Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy, and Nagarjuna Akkineni also star in Brahmastra. The movie is supposed to be the first in a planned trilogy. Interestingly, Shah Rukh Khan makes a special appearance in the film, produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions.
The film's principal photography began in Bulgaria in February 2018, and it will be released in conventional, 3D, and IMAX 3D formats. On September 9, 2022, it will be released in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada.
