Brazilian web series Dom, a crime-drama inspired by true events, will premiere worldwide on Amazon Prime Video on June 4.
Directed by Breno Silveira, Dom is the true story of Victor and his son Pedro. Victor is a police officer who has dedicated his entire life to the war on drugs and Pedro, a drug addict who becomes one of the most wanted criminals in Rio de Janeiro.
With eight one-hour-long episodes, Dom is ready to premiere in over 240 territories exclusively on the OTT platform. In addition to announcing the date of Dom’s release, Prime Video also released the teaser poster of the series featuring Gabriel Leone and Flavio Tolezani.
Leone plays the role of Pedro, a Rio de Janeiro youth who falls into the trap of drugs and develops an addiction to cocaine. This puts him on the path to emerging as a drug lord, dominating the tabloids in Rio in the early 2000s.
The narrative shifts between action and family drama. Dom also tells the story of Victor (Tolezani) whose childhood experience of reporting a discovery to the cops inspires him to join the police intelligence service in his adulthood. The series highlights the journey of the father-son duo who live opposite lives but are sometimes forced to face each other.
Starring alongside Leone and Tolezani are Filipe Bragança, Raquel Villar, Isabella Santoni, Ramon Francisco, Digão Ribeiro, Fabio Lago, Julia Konrad and André Mattos. The original soundtrack of the series has been composed by Antonio Pinto.
