Breaking! Netflix bags Vijay and Trisha's Thalapathy67 digital rights; satellite rights goes to this TV channel

There's yet another update for Thalapathy Vijay fans. The digital rights of the film have been bagged by Netflix for a whopping sum. The platform made the announcement on its social media page today and wrote, "Neenga kaathutu iruntha update itho vanthuduchu! It is time to cue the beat and start the celebrations, because Thalapathy is on his way! #Thalapathy67 is coming to Netflix as a post theatrical release, and we're literally jumping! (sic)." It looks like Netflix has indeed bagged all the upcoming big releases of the year. The platform already has in its kitty, AK62, Thangalaan and Jigarthanda Double X as well.

Thalapathy67 marks the comeback of Vijay and Lokesh Kanagaraj after their fabulous run in Master (2021). The film brings together the hit pair of the 2000s, Trisha and Vijay, and fans of the actors are on cloud nine ever since the announcement was made. Trisha and Vijay have been part of films like Ghilli and Thirupaachi and it's been 14 years since they last worked together in Kuruvi (2008). The film also brings Sanjay Dutt to Tamil cinema and we hear that the Bollywood actor has made a whopping deal for the film. The star cast also includes Arjun Sarja, Priya Anand, Sandy, George Maryan, Mysskin, Mansoor Ali Khan to name a few.

In the meantime, the satellite rights of the film have been bagged by Sun TV. The channel shared the same on its social media handle, "We are happy to announce that we have acquired the satellite rights for @actorvijay’s #Thalapathy67 directed by @Dir_Lokesh! (sic)."

Anirudh Ravichander, who had scored music for Master, is back scoring the music.  Manoj Paramahamsa and Philomin Raj are handling the cinematography and editing respectively. Anbariv is handling the action choreography, N Satheesh Kumar is in charge of the art direction and Dinesh is handling the dance sequences. Dialogues for the film are by Lokesh Kanagaraj himself along with Ratha Kumar and Deeraj Vaidhy. The film is being bankrolled by Thalapathy67, who had earlier produced Master. The shoot for the film has begun and the team is currently in Kashmir for a long schedule.
