The first season of Bridgerton showed the love story between Daphne Bridgerton and Simon Bassett played by Phoebe Dynevor and Regé-Jean Page respectively. This time, another love story is set to be brought to the screen between Viscount Anthony Bridgerton and Kate Sharma, the characters are played by Jonathan Bailey and Simone Ashley. As a part of the TUDUM global event, Netflix unveiled a new clip from the second season.
The video features Anthony and Kate arguing over his attitude. Sharma being a feisty woman shuts him instantly and leaves Viscount Bridgerton spellbound in no time. The first season had Anthony seeking love at many wrong places and now finally the cupid strikes.
As per Entertainment Weekly, Anthony will be sending a proposal of marriage to Edwina Sharma played by Charithra Chandran but instead falls for her sister Kate over time. Well, the Viscount has met his match and the teaser has made fans excited as ever.
During the TUDUM event, Charithra spoke about what's in store for the Sharma sisters in the second season of Bridgerton. She stated, "They very much feel like outsiders. I think the Sharmas represent the audience [viewpoint]."
Talking about his character Anthony, Jonathan said, "He gets to deal with a lot of things that I think he hasn't been given the space to deal with."
Created by Chris Van Dusen and produced by Shonda Rhimes, Bridgerton is based on the novels by Julia Quinn. The narrator of the series is legendary Julie Andrews and the series is set against the backdrop of Regency-era London.
The second season of the Netflix series will be out in 2022. However, the main lead of the first season Regé-Jean Page will not be a part of the upcoming part, much to the dismay of the fans.
