Now that Bridgerton season two is out, fans have finally got a glimpse of the song, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, in one of the sequences. For the uninitiated, the Sharma sisters and their mother participate in a haldi ceremony on the eve of Edwina's wedding to Anthony. The song, which was released in 2001 as the title track for Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, provides a melancholy soundtrack to the season's most noticeable Indian participation.

The cover is by Kris Bowers and is played at 2:48 in episode 6. Netflix India shared the video on their Instagram page with a caption stating, "Only khushi and no gham because #Bridgerton season 2 arrives this Friday."

Earlier, while talking about having K3G song cover in Bridgerton, Charithra Chandran, who plays Edwina Sharma, told the Telegraph that the song is a Bollywood classic for her, so as soon as it started playing, I was like, "Hold on," and then paused and texted the creator of the series, Chris Van Dusen, that this genuinely brought tears to her eyes because it's a collision of both her worlds. Chandran further said that it's sometimes difficult to figure out one's identity as an immigrant's child, and one doesn't always know where they belong.

The actor went on to say that it was one of those pivotal moments when one realised, "Ah, I get it now." She is capable of being and doing both. Especially that song, because it's such a family song with such a deep meaning, it became a symbol of her identity, which she adores.

While Dusen told Netflix's Tudum publication that all the songs were chosen for very specific reasons. In their own unique way, each one is tremendously powerful and deeply emotional, the showrunner said. Dusen constantly experiments with a variety of tunes before settling on the best one for a particular scenario. He is really excited about their musical selections this season.
