If there is a show after The Queen that the world has been going gaga over, it is Bridgerton. The web series, streaming on Netflix, focuses on the Bridgerton family, while there is also another family in the picture - the Featherington sisters.
Little did people know when the show released that the Featherington sisters were actually based on reality show stars, the Kardashian sisters. For the uninitiated, the Kardashian sisters include Kim, Kourtney, Khloe Kardashian, and Kylie and Kendall Jenner.
Irish actress Nicola Coughlan, who plays the role of Penelope Featherington on the show, spilled the beans on Twitter.
She wrote, “As the world’s number one @bridgerton Stan does @KimKardashian know that the Kardashians were a massive inspiration for the Featheringtons and we talked about them all the time during our fittings? Because I feel like she should know this.”
After learning about it, Kim responded on Twitter writing, “WHAT?!?! I am freaking out!!!!!! This tweet was sent to me on my @bridgerton group chat! Can I please come to a fitting?!?! It would make my whole life!!!!!! I love you Lady W!!!”
Couglan responded to her tweet by stating how the most popular Kardashian has been part of the show longer than she knows. “Omg yesss of course we would love to have you! Also did you know that Mr Pearl made your corset for the Met Gala and the very next one he made was mine for Bridgerton? You’ve been part of the Bridgerton world for longer than you know!,” she wrote.
The actress was paired opposite Bessie Carter and Harriet Cains, who play Prudence Featherington and Philipa Featherington on Bridgerton.
Prudence and Philipa mirrored Khloe and Kourtney, while Penelope herself was inspired by Kim’s entrepreneurial skills.
"I think Prudence and Phillipa are very Kourtney and Khloe cos they're besties, and Pen is a very successful business woman, also I remember Kim being like a very good detective too so there's that (sic)," Couglan shared.
Bridgerton has been renewed for four new seasons. While the second season is currently being shot, the third and fourth season of the show are in the pre-production stage.
