Mathew Thomas’ latest film Lovely hit theatres on May 16, 2025. But even while promoting his new film, Mathew was questioned about his performance in the previous movie Bromance, which started streaming on SonyLiv and OTTplay Premium on April 30, 2025. But the young actor did not blame the audience and also rejected that the difference between OTT or theatre audiences was the reason for the negative feedback now.

"When it was released in theatres also, there were comments about my acting being over. I think the meter we took for the character was wrong. Binto, my character, has a medical condition. It is being said in one of the scenes too. But if the majority of the audience did not understand it, that's not their problem. Instead, it would be on how I performed it," he explained

The actor, who was also seen in a small role in Premalu, went on to admit that he does feel bad when criticisms are raised against his characters. "But I will be more careful with my roles," said the actor who has starred in movies such as Journey Of Love 18 +
