The Golden Globe winning police detectives from the 99th precinct in Brooklyn are all set to return for their final season. Brooklyn Nine Nine season 8 is scheduled to premiere in August this year after the Summer Olympics conclude on August 8. However, an official release date has not been announced for the season, possibly because of the existing Covid situation.
The comedy show created by Dan Goor and Michael Schur first premiered in 2013 and soon became a favourite among critics. The show, as well as lead actor Andy Samberg, won a Golden Globe in the first year of its release, having garnered a massive fan following. The fans were so in love with the series that Fox had to bring the series back after it was cancelled after 5 seasons. Fa
ns have high hopes for the last season of the show as it is expected to reflect events from the George Floyd murder and the Black Lives Matter protests as well. Also, the last season will consist of only 10 episodes, making it the shortest season of the series.
The show stars an ensemble cast of Andy Samberg, Andre Braugher, Terry Crews, Joe Lo Truglio, Melissa Fumero, Dirk Blocker, Joel McKinnon Miller and Stephanie Beatriz.
The series last aired in April 2020 and was supposed to have its final season release last year as well. But this was delayed due to the pandemic, much like the Summer Olympics after which the final season will be aired this year.
