The highly anticipated GTA 6 trailer finally dropped, bringing joy to fans eagerly awaiting the next instalment of the beloved open-world gaming series. The trailer has garnered immense attention, amassing over 90 million views within the first 24 hours of its release.

Remarkably, the GTA 6 trailer has now secured its place as the most-viewed non-music video, surpassing the previous record held by YouTuber Mr Beast.

However, it fell short of breaking the overall 24-hour YouTube view record, a milestone still held by BTS, the world's biggest boy band, whose song 'Butter' achieved approximately 108 million views in the same timeframe.

Interestingly, the GTA 6 trailer also outperformed another K-pop sensation, BLACKPINK, whose song 'Pink Venom' previously held the record with 90.4 million views in the first 24 hours.

Most viewed YouTube videos in the first 24 hours:

#1. BTS — Butter (108.2M)

#2. BTS — Dynamite (101.1M)

#3. GTA 6 Trailer (90.6M)

#4. BLACKPINK — Pink Venom (90.4M)

#5. BLACKPINK — How You Like That (86.3M)

The GTA 6 trailer unexpectedly hit the screens on Tuesday, triggered by a leak on X (formerly Twitter). In response to the leak, the company swiftly adjusted the trailer's release date and took down the leaked footage from X.

What's in Store for GTA 6?

The GTA 6 trailer introduces the franchise's first female protagonist, Lucia, portrayed initially in a prison setting. As the trailer progresses, Lucia and her boyfriend embark on bold heists reminiscent of Bonnie and Clyde, all set against the vibrant backdrop of Vice City.

In an official statement about GTA 6, Rockstar Games affirmed, "Grand Theft Auto VI heads to the state of Leonida, home to the neon-soaked streets of Vice City and beyond in the biggest, most immersive evolution of the Grand Theft Auto series yet".
