Since the seven members of the global phenomenon BTS - Kim Namjoon, Kim Seokjin, Min Yoongi, Jung Hoseok, Park Jimin, Kim Taehyung, Jeon Jung-kook - all enlisted in the South Korean military service, their fans, ARMY, patiently wait for even a glimpse of these men either on social media or through news channels.

Recently, on April 12, the second-youngest member of the group, V, took to his Instagram and Weverse app to share photos of his time in the military. While on Instagram, he shared pictures and spoke about how he has gained weight. However, on Weverse, he shared a picture of his back, which he captioned 'Wounds of Glory'. The picture showed bright red marks on V's back.

While many expressed concerns over the wounds, many wanted ARMY not to panic. Amid all these, many recalled a time when Taehyung had shown fans his back with bruises twice - once in the 'Blood, Sweat, & Tears' MV and while performing it on stage.

BTS, at the 2016 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA), performed 'Boy Meets Evil Part.1', 'Boy Meets Evil Part.2', 'Blood, Sweat, & Tears', and 'Fire'. However, before the 'Fire' performance, V was seen walking towards Jin, with his back facing the audience.

He took off his jacket, revealing his bare back which had severed stumps of angel wings. V's character from the music video was a devil, and the scars were from his angel wings which had been chopped off.

Soon ARMY drew connections on X (formerly known as Twitter) recalling the past stage performance and the recent red marks on his back, which look familiar.

Where is V?

Taehyung, after enlisting on December 11, 2023, and completing his training at the Nonsan Training Centre, earned top honours for his exceptional performance. He was then assigned to the prestigious 2nd Division Military Police Corps.

The other members are also located in various divisions of the military around South Korea. BTS' eldest member, Jin, will be the first member to return from his services this June and the band is likely to reconvene in 2025 with ARMY hoping for a big comeback and even a world tour.
