A BTS video of Vetri Maaran's Viduthalai has been doing the rounds on the internet. In the video shot by Cinema Vikatan, director Vetri Maaran is seen giving a glimpse of the arduous task of filming the portions in a dense forest. "We wanted to shoot today, but see, it started raining, " Vetri Maaran says in the video, throwing light on the unpredictability of the weather in a forest. The team of Viduthalai is set to be shooting with bare minimum facilities in the forests of Sathyamangalam, Sirumalai and Kodaikanal. "It usually takes us 45 minutes to an hour to bring all the equipment here. In a regular location, we would shoot three-four scenes in a day, but here, even if you manage to complete one scene, it's a huge accomplishment."
Viduthalai has Soori in the lead. The ace comedian is said to be playing a police constable. Vijay Sethupathi will be seen in an extended special appearance where he will play the character of Vaathiyar. The supporting cast includes Bhavani Sre, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj and Kishore. Sarvam Thaala Mayam director Rajiv Menon had recently joined the sets of the film. "Shooting the climax of the film was a challenging experience as it is an elaborate sequence. It was the producer's confidence in us that we took the plunge into the film, "says Vetri Maaran. The video also gives a peek into the beautiful locales and the life there.
Cinematography for the film is by Velraj, and Ramar is in charge of the editing. While Peter Hein has choreographed the action scenes, Jacki is handling the art direction. Viduthalai marks the maiden collaboration between Vetri Maaran and Ilaiyaraaja. The film will be released in two parts. While the portions for the first part has been wrapped and post production is on, the team is filming the portions for the second part. Viduthalai is bankrolled by Eldred Kumar’s RS Infotainment
