The teaser of Bubblegum, marking the debut of Roshan Kanakala, son of celebrity couple Suma and Rajeev Kanakala, was launched today. Nani was the chief guest for the event graced by the cast, crew and the Kanakala family. The glimpse caught several eyeballs with its no-holds-barred treatment. Maanasa Chaudhary is cast opposite Roshan in the Ravikanth Perepu directorial.

Nani was gracious in his praise for Roshan at the event, applauding his ease in front of the camera in his debut project. He said the film’s release will a celebration for the entire industry, given how Suma and Rajeev Kanakala are so dear to the fraternity. As part of the speech, he more or less confirmed the film’s release date to crowds - December 29, the final weekend of 2023.

The release timing of the film is smart, arriving just a week after two potential box office tsunamis - Salaar and Dunki. With several Christmas biggies either advancing or postponing their release, it can ideally provide a good window for small-budget story-driven film like Bubblegum to flourish. Amidst bigger, larger-than-life films, this could be an alternative for a segment of audience.

“It’s a good release date and signifies new beginnings, will start new year with a bang,” Nani stated. The star praised Ravikanth Perepu for the conviction in his stories and how he chooses his actors based on the scripts (and not the other way around). Suma used the opportunity to ask Hi Nanna’s release date too. “The announcement will be out in a day or two,” is what Nani could confirm as of now.

Bubblegum is produced by People Media Factory and Maheshwari Movies and has music by Sricharan Pakala. The supporting cast comprises Viva Harsha, Kiran G, Ananya Akula, Harshvardhan, Anu Hasan, Jairam Eashwar and Bindu Chandramouli. Ravikanth Perepu, Vishnu Kondur, and Seri-Ganni are the co-writers.
