Buddivantha 2: First teaser of Upendra, Sonal Montiero led sequel out on this date

Upendra-led film Buddhivantha 2 went on floors back in January 2020 but it was recently, about a month ago, that the makers managed to wrap up the shoot. Of course, one takes the coronavirus pandemic into account to justify the delay, but it is also safe to presume that the film encountered other undisclosed halts along the way. But the Real Star's fans can finally celebrate because the film is set to release in theatres on September 15.

Before that, audiences will be treated to the teaser of the film which, we learn, is out on August 3. Buddhivantha 2, of course, comes as a sequel to the 2008 superhit film which starred Upendra in a variety of roles. Buddhivantha is the remake of the 2007 Tamil film Naan Avanillai which, in turn, is the remake of the 1974 film of the same name. Upendra's eccentric portrayal of the diverse characters was widely appreciated by fans, with the film completing 100 days in several theatres across Karnataka.

The Telugu dubbed version titled Buddhimanthudu and that film, too, yielded great results at the box office, completing 50 days in theatres. The film also stars Pooja Gandhi, Brinda Parekh, Saloni Aswani, Natanya Singh, Suman Ranganathan and others. 

Another highlight of Buddivantha turned out to be Pichaikkaran 2 actor Vijay Antony's soundtrack, which included hit songs such as "Chitranna Chitranna" (sung by Antony himself along with Sangeetha Rajeshwaran), "Ravivarmana" and others. The composer has now been replaced by Gurukiran in Buddhivantha 2.

Dr. T.R. Chandra Shekar serves as the producer of Buddhivantha 2 with Jaidhev directing it. Sonal Monteiro, Meghana Raj Sarja and others, too, are part of the cast.
