Shahid Kapoor’s next project Bull, in which he will be seen as a paratrooper, now has a release date.

The announcement, which said that Kapoor will be appear in a "never-before-seen avatar", was made via production banner T-Series today. The film will have a theatrical release on April 7, 2023. 

Bull marks the directorial debut of Aditya Nimbalkar, who has worked with Vishal Bharadwaj on films like Haider, Pataakha, Kaminey, and Rangoon. The screenplay is by Aseem Arrora (Baazaar, Malang) and Parveez Shaikh (Bellbottom).

According to a press release, Bull is expected to go on floors in 2022.

Bhushan Kumar is producing in collaboration with Amar Butala and Garima Mehta of Guilty by Association. The press release adds that this is the first collaboration between the two production houses.

Kapoor had previously said he feels proud to play a paratrooper in a film inspired by real-life events.

“It is a privilege to play a paratrooper who leads his boys through a historic and selfless mission that has now become iconic for its precision and bravado. The opportunity to play a paratrooper is exhilarating and truly an honour, the actor had said, according to PTI.

Kapoor was last seen in Kabir Singh, a Hindi remake of Telugu romantic drama Arjun Reddy. He is also readying for the release of Jersey, a remake of Nani’s 2019 film of the same name. The sports drama also stars Mrunal Thakur and Pankaj Kapur in pivotal roles. 

He had recently also shared that he had begin shooting for an untitled crime thriller with Ali Abbas Zafar. Kapoor will also be making his digital debut soon with Amazon Prime Video thriller series, directed by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK.
