Butta Bomma teaser: Telugu remake of Kappela featuring Anikha Surendran, Surya Vashistta, Arjun Das, exudes charm

Remakes continue to rule the roost in Telugu cinema. After the likes of Ayyappanum Koshiyum, Oh My Kadavule, Joseph and Lucifer, a remake of yet another popular film will hit theatres in Telugu states later this year. Anna Ben starrer Kappela, streaming on Netflix, whose popularity skyrocketed during the lockdown, will be releasing in Telugu as Butta Bomma. Anikha Surendran, Surya Vashistta, Arjun Das play the lead roles in thus rustic romance.

Leading production house Sithara Entertainments, which has delivered several quality films in the recent past including Varudu Kavalenu, DJ Tillu, Bheemla Nayak and Swathimuthyam, to name a few is bankrolling the film in association with Trivikram's Fortune Four Cinemas. Shourie Chandrasekhar Ramesh makes his directorial debut with the project whose shoot has been wrapped already. The teaser of Butta Bomma was unveiled earlier today.

The teaser introduces Anikha as Satya, a girl-next-door character, who is the apple of everyone's eyes in the village. The innocent girl has a way with words and immense zest for life and it's not surprising that a man (an auto driver played by Surya Vashistta) falls for her charm. Romance blossoms between Satya and the driver. Through a riddle, the teaser offers a glimpse into the story where the baddie (Arjun Das) decides it's payback time. What's in store for Satya?

It's impossible not to be smitten by the laidback, feel-good vibe of Butta Bomma and the tone of the film stays true to the original, extracting realistic performances from its leads. Gopi Sundar's background score woos you in the teaser and the film has a capable technical crew, comprising writer Ganesh Kumar Kuvari, cinematographer Vamsi Patchipulusu, editor Navin Nooli and others to name a few. Butta Bomma is slated to release in December.
