Just a few days back, reports were rife that Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone might be roped in for Brahmastra 2. Now, a new name has been associated with the project – Hrithik Roshan. Sorry, let us correct ourselves. He was associated with the project but reportedly let it go.

That’s right. It looks like Hrithik refused the likes of Karan Johar and Ayan Mukerji even as he was offered the lead in Brahmastra 2. The actor was going to play the role of Dev in the film.

Wondering why this Greek God refused to do such a high-budget, high-on-VFX film? For the exact same reason, it appears so.

A source told Bollywood Hungama that Hrithik was not too keen on investing his time behind limited films. Since the actor already has Krrish 4 and Ramayana in his kitty, he doesn’t wish to invest seven years, which might be the case if he accepted Brahmastra 2.

Thus, the actor politely put down Karan and Ayan, leaving them in search for a new lead actor. He simply wishes to work on more films currently, probably because his last release was WAR in 2019.

Hrithik is currently working on Vikram Vedha remake. The actor also has Fighter with Deepika Padukone in his kitty.

Meanwhile, Brahmastra Part One: Shiva proved to be lucky for the lead actors Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, who worked together on a film for the first time, fell in love, got married and are even waiting for their first baby – all before the movie’s release. The second installment, however, might only feature them once again.

Brahmastra is a part of Ayan’s Astraverse. The first installment is slated to release on September 9.
