Kartik Aaryan is certainly keeping busy these days. After the massive success of his last outing, Anees Bazmee’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, the actor is currently juggling a host of projects. And it seems that Kartik has also added to his already brimming kitty with yet another project. It was reported that Kartik will star in Anurag Basu’s next directorial.

According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, Kartik will team up with Anurag for a film the likes of which the former has never done before. The film will reportedly be a romantic tale, which will showcase a kind of love story which Indian cinema has never seen before. A source told the portal that the film would give Kartik an opportunity to “extend his performing skills beyond anything he has done so far”. An official announcement regarding the same is yet to be made by the makers. If confirmed, the film would mark Kartik and Anurag’s first collaboration together.

Meanwhile, Kartik’s upcoming releases include Rohit Dhawan’s Shehzada, Shashanka Ghosh’s Freddy and Sameer Vidwans’ Satyaprem Ki Katha. The former, which will see Kartik share the screen with his Luka Chuppi co-star Kriti Sanon, is slated for release on February 10, 2023.

Freddy, which also stars Alaya F and Jeniffer Piccinato, will reportedly be a direct to digital release, with the makers currently in talks with Disney+ Hotstar to be the platform for the film’s release.

Satyaprem Ki Katha, produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, will see Kartik collaborate with his Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 co-star Kiara Advani. The film will hit the big screens on June 29, 2023.

Anurag’s last directorial came in the form of the Netflix film Ludo, which starred Abhishek Bachchan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Rajkummar Rao, Sanya Malhotra, Pearle Maaney, Pankaj Tripathi, Fatima Sana Shaikh. There were reports that Anurag will also direct a film featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Aamir Khan, although the reports are yet to be confirmed.
