Pippa will see Ishaan Khatter take on the role of war veteran Balram Singh Mehta, who played a pivotal role in the Indo-Pakistan War of 1971. The war drama will see Khatter share the screen with Mrunal Thakur, Soni Razdan and Priyanshu Painyuli. It was reported that the film has gotten a new release date, and the makers would announce the same along with the movie’s teaser release.

According to a report in Pinkvilla, the makers were planning to unveil the film’s teaser on August 15 Independence day. A source told the portal that the teaser would be released in the first half of Monday, and the makers would also announce the new release date of the film as well. The film, which is presently in the post production stage, was earlier scheduled for release on December 9 this year.

Pippa will now hit theatres on December 2, 2022.

The upcoming film is based on Mehta’s book The Burning Chaffees: A Soldier's First-Hand Account of the 1971 War. The film will reportedly revolve around a ‘heroic’ tank battle. The film borrows its title from a Russian amphibious war tank, which is generally referred to as 'Pippa'.

Khatter had wrapped up filming on Pippa in April this year. Taking to his official Instagram handle, the actor spoke of how he was filled with love and gratitude after wrapping up the film.

Thakur wrapped up her part of the film in October last year. Taking to her social media, the actress spoke of how playing the character of Radha in the film had helped her learn and grow as an actor, and it was an experience she could not describe in just a few words. The actress called the film a ‘beautiful piece of art’ as well as a ‘spectacular project’.

Pippa is directed by Raja Krishna Menon and bankrolled by Ronnie Screwvala and Siddharth Roy Kapur.
