Buzz: Pratik Gandhi, Saiyami Kher team up for Rahul Dholakia’s next?

Pratik Gandhi and Saiyami Kher are gearing up to share the silver screen together in their first collaboration. It was reported that the duo will star in Rahul Dholakia’s upcoming directorial, tentatively titled Agni.

According to a report in Mid Day, the upcoming film will revolve around the story of firefighters.The film went on floors this month and would predominantly be shot across Mumbai and Delhi. In addition to Saiyami and Pratik, the film also features Divyendu Sharma in a leading role as well. The film will be produced under the banner of Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment. An official announcement about the film is yet to be made by the makers.

If confirmed, the film would mark Rahul’s first directorial venture after almost 5 years. The filmmaker’s last film was the 2017 film Raees. The film, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Mahira Khan in lead roles, can be streamed on Apple TV.

Meanwhile, Pratik was last seen in Hansal Mehta’s segment of Modern Love: Mumbai. The actor’s upcoming releases include Pulkit’s Dedh Bigha Zameen which also stars Khushali Kumar, Arshad Syed’s Woh Ladki Hai Kahaan? starring Taapsee Pannu, and Ananth Narayan Mahadevan’s Phule which also features Patralekhaa. Pratik will also star in Hansal Mehta’s upcoming web series, Gandhi, in which the former will play the titular role.

Saiyami will play a leading role in R Balki’s upcoming film, Ghoomer, opposite Abhishek Bachchan. The actress will also feature in the upcoming season of Mayank Sharma’s web series Breathe into the Shadows, sharing the screen with Abhishek yet again.

Divyanendu Sharma will next be seen in Imtiaz Ali’s production, Thai Massage, opposite Gajraj Rao, Sunny Hinduja, Rajpal Yadav, Vibha Chibber and Alina Zasobina. The film, written and directed by Mangesh Hadawale, is slated for release on August 26.
