Dev and Rukmini Maitra are pairing up once again on the big screen. They will be seen together in the film Byomkesh O Durgo Rohoshyo, directed by Birsa Dasgupta. Dev will play the sleuth Byomkesh Bakshi and Rukmini will play the wife, Satyabati. According to reports, Ambarish Bhattacharya will play Ajit and Satyam Bhattacharya will play another important character, Manilal.

Byomkesh O Durgo Rohoshyo’s Shubho Muhurat took place recently. Rukmini was present there. Shooting has started.

Rukmini recently played Binodini, after having a workshop with Sudipta Chakraborty. As soon as it was done, the news of her upcoming film came out.

In an interview with ABP Ananda, Rukmini said, “Not only Binodini, but I also try to give my 100% to any character that comes to me. I tried my best while playing Binodini, and I will do the same for Satyabati.” What is her opinion about Satyabati’s character? She said, “Everyone says that she is a Bengali housewife. But what appealed to me most was her intelligence. In the time when the story is placed, there used to be one sharp and intelligent Satyabati hidden within each of our grandmothers. They showed the way to their male counterparts but did not often come to the public.”

How did she prepare for this character? She said, “The biggest challenge was my look. I am shown here as a pregnant woman. I have played a pregnant girl before in Champ. But this role is different. I am having a workshop with Damini Basu.”

The shooting will take place in Kolkata, its suburbs, and Madhya Pradesh. What will be their chemistry with Dev in this film? She said, “I have worked with many actors, but it was Dev with whom I acted most seriously. I always fear when he will scold me. Hence I live within my character even when the camera is off. We do not bring our personal relationships to the set. This film shows a dependence between the two characters who have spent a considerable amount of time after their marriage. They are also friends. But our chemistry did not help to build the on-screen chemistry. We become different people in front of the camera.”
