Byomkesh O Durgo Rohosyo-actor Dev explains why he welcomes newcomers

Byomkesh O Durgo Rohosyo, directed by Birsa Dasgupta, will be released on August 11. Dev will play iconic sleuth Byomkesh for the first time, while Rukmini Maitra will play Satyabati. Ever since the announcement, Dev was much trolled for playing the iconic character. 

A few months back, Dev Entertainment Private Limited completed six years. Dev has produced several films and gave a chance to many new faces.

Dev once came to popular TV show Didi Number 1 and said that he is the actor and producer who has worked with the highest number of new faces and given them scopes. But why? Does not he feel scared sometimes? Dev said in an interview with Ei Samay, “Someone also gave me a chance. I came here because I got the chance. Had I not got it, I would not be here. My first film flopped. I got chances even after that.”

Many television actresses like Sweta Bhattacharya and Soumitrisha Kundu got a chance on the big screen because of Dev. Bagha Jatin's heroine Srija is also a new face. Dev said, “Today's actors are hardworking and responsible. I am launching Srija who is also hardworking and a professional. They know that they will trail in the race if they can not use the chance.” He also sarcastically said, “I think everyone except me acts well.” 

Sweta was seen in the film Projapati. Soumitrisha will be in the film Pradhan.
