C Space OTT, the online streaming platform which is owned by the Government of Kerala, is set to have its official launch very soon. As per the recent updates, Chief Minister of Kerala, Pinarayi Vijayan will launch the OTT platform at the Kairali Theatre of Thiruvananthapuram, on March 7, 2024. Interestingly, around 42 acclaimed films, including the award-winning movies B 32 Muthal 44 Vare and Nishiddho, are set to have OTT releases soon, on C Space.

According to the reports, 42 acclaimed films which are funded by the Kerala State Film Development Corporation, including the much-loved B 32 Muthal 44 Vare, which is helmed by Shruthi Sharanyam, and Nishiddho, which is directed by Tara Ramanujam, are slated to stream on C Space OTT, in its first phase. Even though the official release dates of the films are not revealed yet, the recent updates suggest that all 42 films with start streaming on the Kerala government’s new foray, immediately after its launch. In that case, B 32 Muthal 44 Vare, Nishiddho, and other films might get their OTT releases on March 7, 2024, Thursday.

C Space OTT - Subscription plans and everything you need to know

For the uninitiated, C Space, which is managed by the Kerala State Film Development Corporation (KSFDC), was launched to support budding filmmakers by providing people-oriented meaningful infotainment. The Kerala government’s initiative, set to operate on a ‘pay-per-view’ plan, will allow its viewers to watch a feature film for Rs 75. However, the shorter content like documentaries and short films, will be available for a much lesser price. Half of the amount charged by C Space OTT will go to the content provider.

A panel of curators, which includes some of the biggest names from the Malayalam literature, and entertainment industry including Benyamin, O V Usha, Santhosh Sivan, Shyamaprasad, Sunny Joseph, and Jeo Baby, have been appointed to select and approve the content that gets released on C Space OTT. Shaji N Karun, the famous film director and the Chairman of KSFDC, who addressed the media at a recent press meet, confirmed that only the content recommended by the curators will be showcased on the platform.
