Cartel: When Tanuj Virwani fractured his hairline while playing cricket

Tanuj Virwani is one of the most popular faces on the web when it comes to cricket, thanks to him being the poster face for Inside Edge. Ironically though, the sport gave him a grave injury in his upcoming show Cartel. Within 10 days of shooting for the ALTBalaji series, Tanuj injured his arm.

Back in September 2019, Tanuj suffered from a hairline fracture after playing cricket. Talking to IANS, he revealed that he suffered hairline fractures in four places and was heartbroken thinking about how he would go on with shooting for the show with the injury.

"Landing punches, firing weapons is crucial to the character. I couldn't wear a cast because it would be a major continuity jerk," the actor revealed.

However, luckily, he found a customised cast which helped him shoot for the scenes with a little ease. The actor, however, revealed that the cast was off in front of the camera.

Cartel stars over 138 actors including Supriya Pathak and Ritvik Dhanjani in pivotal roles. Tanuj plays the role of a character named Arjun in the series. The show will stream on ALTBalaji from August 20.

The trailer of Cartel was unveiled recently and it has garnered people’s attention wholly. The web series is touted to be OTT’s answer to Ram Gopal Varma’s Satya, Company and Sarkar.

Cartel also stars Jitendra Joshi, Rithvik Dhanjani, Pranati Rai Prakash, Divya Agarwal, Girija Oak Godbole, Amey Wagh, Monica Dogra, Vikram Kochhar, Vibhav Roy, Tannishtha Chatterjee, Sanaya Pithawala, Mayur More, Mrinal Dutt, Krishna Kaul, Aditi Vasudev, Keval Dasani, Kannan Arunachalam, Sushrii Mishra and Anil George in pivotal roles.
