It’s been in theatres for a week already and there seems to be no stopping the juggernaut that is Garuda Gamana Vrishabha Vahana. Raj B Shetty, the captain of this ship, who’s also Shiva in the film, is making sure the momentum continues by teasing audiences, who’ve still not seen it, with sneak peeks from it. This time around, he and his team have chosen to release a lyrical video of Sojugada Soojumalige, which, unlike the one for Endo Bareda is not full of random stock footage.

Sojugada Soojumalige has glimpses of Raj in one of the defining moments of Shiva’s character, as he breaks into a rain-soaked tiger dance, blood still dripping off the blade in his hand. Of course, Raj wants audiences to watch it in theatres, so the visuals here have the red and blue characteristic hues of the poster, but they are still effective as hell.

The song has been sung by composer Midhun Mukundan, one of the ‘stars’ of this film, along with Chaitra J Achar and is based on an original folk composition. The song is an integral part of the narrative and is best watched in a theatre.

Garuda Gamana Vrishabha Vahana is Raj B Shetty’s second directorial after Ondu Motteya Kathe. The story of the rise and fall of two underworld goons, Shiva and Hari, in Mangaladevi, Mangaluru, has been produced by Lighter Buddha Films and presented by Rakshit Shetty’s Paramvah Studios. The film stars Raj, Rishab Shetty and Gopalkrishna Deshpande in pivotal roles.

Since its release, Garuda Gamana Vrishabha Vahana has been the toast of town, garnering favourable reviews from critics and the public alike. In fact, its reach has been phenomenal, with even Anurag Kashyap singing its praise.
