CBI 5 The Brain: Fifth movie in CBI franchise, starring Mammootty, gets title

Mammootty's portrayal of the sharp minded, quick witted, crime solving Sethurama Iyer is one of the most iconic characters in Malayalam cinema. The makers of the fifth instalment in the CBI series have now revealed the official title of the movie. 

The motion poster of the movie was shared to the elation of the fans through the Facebook handle of the actor. The motion poster catches the attention of the viewer and features the actor as his iconic character, with his hands folded behind his back. The short video was also backed by the background music from the franchise, which in itself is iconic with the Malayali audience. 

Fans quickly took to the comment section of the post, sharing their excitement over the project and what the makers have in store for them. The poster has also gone wild on social media, with fans sharing the poster to celebrate the return of the character for the fifth and final time. 

The movie is written by S.N Swamy and directed by K. Madhu, the combination who has previously delivered the other four projects in the CBI series. Oru CBI Diary Kurippu (1988), Jagratha (1989), Sethurama Iyer CBI (2004), and Nerariyan CBI (2005) are the previous movies in the series.

Bankrolled by Swargachitra Appachan, the movie also has Mukesh, Sai Kumar and Jagathy, all reprising their roles from the previous projects. Kaniha, Soubin Shahir and Dileesh Pothan will also be seen in supporting roles in CBI 5 The Brain. 

With music by Jakes Bejoy and Akhil George and A. Sreekar Prasad as cinematographer and editor respectively, the expectations from the fans are sky high as Mammootty returns as Sethurama Iyer.
