Darling Krishna is quite literally on a roll this season of the Celebrity Cricket League. The Karnataka Bulldozer batsman has played 6 innings in matches against the Mumbai Heroes, Bengal Tigers and Chennai Rhinos, respectively, so far and his knocks, in each has been either a turning point or a major stepping stone for the team in ensuring victory. Krishna has 274 runs to his credit so far, including 4 back-to-back half century scores, which has netizens joking that the actor should have, perhaps been a cricketer.

Krishna’s brilliant batting sprees has prompted several fans addressing tweets to the local IPL team, the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), urging them to induct the actor into their ranks. Comments ranged from, “Bro chose the wrong profession”, “Dear @RCBTweets, E Darling Krishna na adru team ge tagolri, kashta kaaldalli bekagtare”, “Darling Krishna is fit for a film career, but he’s a perfect fit for a cricket career”, “Absolutely mesmerizing batting display by Darling Krishna. He’d be a perfect fit for Royal Challengers Bangalore”, among others.

What is special about Krishna’s scores, who opens for the Bulldozers, is that his half centuries come from very few balls. His 55 against the Mumbai Heroes, for instance, came from 18 balls, the scores of 72 and 54 in the match with the Bengal Tigers came from 33 and 21 balls each, while the 57 in the match against the Chennai Rhinos came from 20 balls, with several hits to the boundary and beyond. In fact, during his innings against the Mumbai Heroes in Sharjah, one of his sixes went right out of the stadium. Krishna also has the most sixes to his credit.

Last year, Bulldozers skipper Pradeep Bogadi was among the top 10 batsmen of the tournament at eighth position with 203 runs to his credit, with Telugu Warriors’ Akhil Akkineni at No. 1 position. This time, Krishna’s closest competition is from The Telugu Warrior’s Ashwin Babu, followed by Vikranth from the Chennai Rhinos.
