The 10th edition of the Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) – featuring teams from Bollywood and Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, Bhojpuri and Bengali film industries – is set to kick off on February 23 in Sharjah with an exciting clash between Mumbai Heroes and Kerala Strikers . The latter team, which will be led by Malayalam star Indrajith Sukumaran, is expecting to start with a major upset.
In a chat with OTTplay ahead of the match, Indrajith tells us, “We have a pretty good team this time and the preparations too are top-notch. All of us in the team are really looking forward to putting up some great performances on the field. Also, CCL this time is much bigger. I think it’s the biggest edition since its launch.”
Indrajith to miss CCL match due to Empuraan
Indrajith was the vice captain of the Kerala Strikers in the inaugural edition of CCL that had Mohanlal leading the team. Last year, it was Kunchacko Boban who headed the team. That said, the team will be without its captain for its third game against Telugu Warriors in Hyderabad, as Indrajith will be travelling to the US to shoot his portions for Prithviraj Sukumaran and Mohanlal’s L2: Empuraan.
