Kiccha Sudeep: Telugu Warriors have better head-to-head ratio against Karnataka Bulldozers

Although Sudeep and his team have been practising regularly for the last few weeks, they are not taking the match against the Akhil Akkineni-led side lightly. “The match against the Telugu Warriors on February 8 is going to be very tough and quite the challenge for us. If you look at the head-to-head record of the Karnataka Bulldozers against the Telugu Warriors, they have the upper-hand, in terms of winning ratio,” said Sudeep.

The Karnataka Bulldozers skipper added that his side has always given them a good fight. “In the last season, for instance, they played us for a chance to qualify for the semi-final stage. It wasn’t just a matter of winning the match against us, they needed to get to a certain score within a stipulated over count. We lost the match, but we did not let them qualify either; that’s the level of competition we give. They are a wonderful side and I am looking forward to that match; it’s going to be great,” said Sudeep.

The Telugu Warriors is the most successful team in the Celebrity Cricket League, having won the tournament 4 times, out of the 5 finals they played. The only time they didn’t win was in 2013, when the Karnataka Bulldozers emerged victorious. The Sandalwood side, however, holds the record for the most finals played, featuring in 7 of the 10 so far, with their most recent outing last year, when they lost to the Bengal Tigers, a side they’d beaten earlier.
