The third and final weekend of group stage matches are only days away, but after 2 weeks and 10 matches, there is some indication about who will play the semis on March 1. As of now, 2 teams have won all 3 of their group stage matches each, 4 have won 1 each, while 1 lost all 3. 6 of the 7 teams have only 1 match each pending, 1 has 2 more and that could change the equation as it is now.

Results of Week 2 of CCL 2025

Day 3 of CCL 2025 was at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on February 14. First up were the Karnataka Bulldozers against the Chennai Rhinos, which the former won by 8 wickets in comfortable fashion. The second match had crowd favourite Telugu Warriors playing the Bhojpuri Dabanggs and in the first set of 10 overs, it seemed that Manoj Tiwari’s team was in control. Akhil Akkineni turned the match on its head in the second over and despite a low target to chase, ensured that the Dabanggs did not make it to the finish line.

Day 4 of CCL 2025 was still in Hyderabad and yet again had the Bulldozers playing a noon match, but this time with the Mumbai Heroes. The Bulldozers set the highest total of the tournament in their first innings, which included a century from Darling Krishna, and ensured the match was theirs. The Telugu Warriors then came out to take on the Chennai Rhinos, but the strategy they employed against the Dabanggs did not work this time around and the latter registered its first win of the tournament.

Day 5 of CCL 2025 saw the action move to Cuttack, where the Dabanggs were handed their second shock defeat; this time at the hands of the Punjab De Sher team. Then it was the turn of the defending champions to play the Mumbai Heroes, which was not a high-scoring game and yet went to the Tigers.

What’s next at CCL 2025?

On February 22 and 23, all 7 teams will be in Surat; with 4 teams in contention for the remaining two semi-final spots. With the Bulldozers and Tigers at the top of the table with 3 wins each, it’s between the Chennai Rhinos, Telugu Warriors, Bhojpuri Dabanggs and Punjab De Sher to fight it out for that coveted spot. Punjab De Sher has two more matches to go and if the team repeats the stunning action against the Dabanggs, they could make it to their first semis ever.

It's a long shot, though, as Punjab De Sher plays the Karnataka Bulldozers next and the Kiccha Sudeep-led team has been in supreme form. Thereafter, they are up against the Mumbai Heroes, who have lost all 3 matches and will look at some form of redemption. At the moment Punjab De Sher is in 4thposition on net run-rate, but that will change once all teams have played 4 group stage matches each.

As of now, with 3 wins apiece, Bulldozers and Tigers are definite semi-finalists. Their opponents will be decided on March 1. Will we see a repeat of the 2024 final with the Bulldozers in revenge mode against the Tigers? Let’s wait and watch.
