In the time since the schedule of the Celebrity Cricket League 2025 was announced, there’s been no update on where the finale week would unfold. While the tournament has had its semi-final and final in Hyderabad or Vizag for the longest, last year, that changed, when, in a last-minute development, Thiruvananthapuram played host. This time, there were murmurs that the organizers had locked Coimbatore as the venue for the final, but that was not officially confirmed.
A little while ago, Karnataka Bulldozers skipper Kiccha Sudeep, who is also one of the most ardent supporters of the tournament, announced that after the Surat weekend on February 22 and 23, the top 4 teams will head to none other than namma Mysuru for the semi-finals and final on March 1 and 2. “Supa happy to announce that #CCL2025 is coming to #NammaMysuru. Two Semifinls and the final will be played at Mysuru on the 1st and 2nd of March. Thanks to #CCL and #KSCA for accommodating and rendering your support,” Sudeep wrote on X.
The Karnataka Bulldozers are currently at the top of the points table, along with defending champions Bengal Tigers, having won all 3 of their group stage matches, respectively. While the Bulldozers and Tigers are a definite shoo-in for the semi-finals on March 1, the other 2 semi-finalists will be decided over February 22 and 23 in Surat, what with the Telugu Warriors, Chennai Rhinos, Punjab De Sher and Bhojpuri Dabanggs all tied at one win each, but separated by net run-rate. While the Warriors, Rhinos and Dabanggs have only 1 match pending, Punjab De Sher has two more.
The Bulldozers and Tigers will not play each other at the semi-final stage, as the team topping the points table, takes on the one in fourth place, while number 2 takes on number 3. At the moment, the top 4 teams are the Bulldozers, Tigers, Dabanggs and Shers, in terms of net-run rate, but the latter two could change over next weekend.
