The countdown to Season 11 of the popular Celebrity Cricket League, a marquee event featuring film stars and technicians, has begun. This year too, there will be eight teams representing Hindi (Mumbai Heroes), Bengali (Bengal Tigers), Punjabi (Punjab De Sher), Bhojpuri (Bhojpuri Dabanggs), Telugu (Telugu Warriors), Tamil (Chennai Rhinos), Kannada (Karnataka Bulldozers) and Malayalam (Kerala Strikers) cinema,in competition.

The tournament will begin on February 8, 2025 in Bengaluru and wind up on March 2, 2025, with the venue for the finale yet to be determined. Earlier today, the organizer dropped a teaser video of the tournament, which revealed the broadcast and streaming partners of this edition. This time around, all the matches will stream live on Disney+ Hotstar, and not JioCinema. The broadcast partner has been listed as Sony Sports 3.

In the past, CCL was always broadcast across multiple vernacular channels, to allow audiences to watch matches with the commentary language of their choice. For instance, Star Suvarna would telecast all of the matches featuring the Karnataka Bulldozers, and so on and so forth, with Kannada commentary. Such partnerships are expected this year too, with more details to emerge in the days to come.

This year, CCL is abandoning the IPL format of determining finalists – including qualifiers, eliminators - and will, instead, have the top 4 teams from the group stage head to the semi-finals. The T20 matches will continue to be played in Test format, with teams playing two innings of 10 overs each. The first 3 overs of each innings will be Power Play overs.

The opening batsmen (1,2 &3) of the first innings, cannot bat in that order in the second innings and will be allowed to play further down the order. Similarly, bowlers used during Power Play of one inning, cannot bowl in the first four overs of the second innings.
