Century Star Shivarajkumar’s first full-fledged Telugu film is the Gummadi Narsaiah biopic

Kannada cinema’s Century Star Shivarajkumar’s upcoming filmography has a very exciting update. The Hattrick Hero, who is currently juggling multiple projects, has been announced as the face of the biopic on renowned Telugu politico, Gummadi Narsaiah, to be directed by actor-turned-filmmaker Prameshwar Hivrale. The makers revealed Shivarajkumar’s first-look from the film, Gummadi Narsaiah, which will be a pan-India project and is set to go on floors shortly.

Known as the people’s man, Gummadi Narsaiah was an independent MLA in multiple stints between 1983 and 2009 from the Yellandu constituency. The first look poster features Shivarajkumar in a powerful yet understated avatar, sporting spectacles, dressed in a simple white kurta-pajama and a red scarf draped over his shoulder, as he walks while pushing a bicycle along, with the Assembly in the backdrop. A red flag featuring the sickle and hammer, a symbol of leftist ideology, hangs from the bicycle, clearly signifying the character’s political leanings and the ideological core of the narrative.

Gummadi Narsaiah is only one of many upcoming Shivarajkumar films. The actor’s next release is 45, the directorial debut of composer Arjun Janya, a film that he’d completed before he went to the US for cancer treatment. Since his return, he’s been working on 666 Operation Dream Theatre by Hemanth M Rao, Bail by Pavan Wadeyar, A for Anand with MG Srinivas, besides his extended roles in Ram Charan’s Peddi and Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2.

Uttarakaanda, is currently on hold, with the makers reportedly waiting for the actor to regain strength, considering that the gangster role in the film is quite physically challenging. He has also been announced as the leading man of director Hariprasad Jayanna’s untitled next.
