Director Tinu Pappachan and team had an exciting surprise in store for Kunchacko Boban’s birthday as megastar Mammootty released the first look poster of the actor’s upcoming action thriller Chaaver.

The poster of the film, which also has Antony Varghese and Arjun Ashokan in pivotal roles, hints at an intense yet rooted action thriller that promises to keep the audience on the ‘edge’ of their seats. The poster shows several elements including a Theyyam artiste, a burning forest, a jeep chase along with its characters essayed by Kunchacko, Antony and Arjun – all on a knife’s edge.

Produced by Arun Narayan and Venu Kunnapilly, the movie is scripted by actor and director Joy Mathew. Chaaver also marks Tinu’s third action thriller after Swathanthryam Ardharathriyil and Ajagajantharam – both of which had Antony as part of the cast.

Sharing the poster, Kunchacko wrote, “Dreams do come true when you strongly desire and work hard for it.” The actor also promised a next-level theatrical experience through Chaaver, which marks his second action film this year after Ottu.

In an earlier interview with OTTplay, the movie’s producer Arun had said that though the movie has “an action mood, it doesn’t have too many fight sequences like Ajagajantharam”. “It’s Tinu’s version of a thriller like Nayattu,” said the producer, adding that it’s a big-budget project that has locations across Kannur, Munnar and Tamil Nadu.

Apart from the lead trio, Thinkalazhcha Nishchayam actor Manoj KU also plays a pivotal role in the movie, which is set against a rural backdrop. Cinematographer Jinto George, editor Nishadh Yusuf, sound designer Renganaath Raave, art director Gokul Das and composer Justin Varghese are part of the technical crew of the film, which is expected to hit theatres by the end of this year.

Meanwhile, Kunchacko’s next release will be Ariyippu, which is set to drop on Netflix. He has also completed shooting for Enthada Saji, Pakalum Pathiraavum and Jude Antany Joseph’s upcoming multi-starrer based on 2018 Kerala floods.
