Chaaver, the latest Malayalam movie starring Kunchacko Boban was released in cinemas worldwide on October 5. Kunchacko was very thrilled ahead of the movie's release and it was evident in his efforts to promote the movie.
Kunchacko must really believe in Chaaver and the vision of director Tinu Pappachan to extend such support. Earlier, the star was under fire for failing to show up for the promotions of his previous movie, Padmini. Despite the movie, which was helmed by National Award-winning director Senna Hegde, drawing favourable reviews from the critics and resonating with the family audiences, it seemed Kunchacko had sort of disowned the movie.
It's unclear why Kunchacko steered clear of Padmini. Only he can clarify that. But, he was sure to make his best efforts to spread awareness about Chaaver.
Kunchacko also spoke highly of Tinu Pappachan and screenwriter Joy Mathew and promised a memorable visual spectacle with a strong social message. "Chaaver is based on real incidents – the experiences that he has gone through and the people that he has seen. Even though it could be slotted as a political thriller, it has an underlying layer of human emotions, attachments and friendships – that are conceived in a serious yet thrilling pattern," Kunchacko told OTTplay earlier.

Judging from the trailer, Chaaver promises an edge-of-the-seat political thriller, showing Kunchacko in his "massiest" avatar yet.
Chaaver seems to have fallen short of the audience's expectations. The movie has garnered mixed reviews from both critics and audiences alike. However, the movie's visual style seemed to have unanimously impressed everyone.
"The main positive of #Chaaver is the SIGNATURE SHOTS & MAKING of #TinuPappachan, as per early reviews," tweeted AB George, an industry tracker.
"Much disappointed with #Chaaver Look like #TinuPappachan have tried hard with his making stylr for this very weak script from #JoyMathew.. Tried raw & intense climax but nothing comes out well...!! +Ve: Pepe scenes, BGM, Song," opined Unni Rajendran, a social media influencer.
Chaaver also stars Arjun Asokan, Antony Varghese, Manoj KU, Anuroop, Sajin, Joy Mathew, Deepak Parambol, Arun Narayan, and Sangeetha Madhavan.
