Chakda Xpress actor Anushka Sharma opens up on motherhood and work life balance

Anushka Sharma and her husband Virat Kohli welcomed their first child, Vamika, in 2021. The actress soon began working for her new film Chakda Xpress which is based on Indian cricket team player Jhulan Goswami, as well as fulfilling her commitments to other companies.

She recently spoke with Harper's Bazaar magazine on the film industry's rat race.

Anushka speaks about the work culture in the film industry, saying that everyone is racing to attain their objectives, but she is more than a "rat in a rat race'' since she wants to enjoy her life and her acting career.

“I enjoy being in a room full of creative people, discussing ideas, coming up with ways of doing a scene, and thinking about how the audience will react to it. It’s all so pleasurable; I never want to give it up.” the actress added.

Anushka went on to discuss her career and life as a mother. As the actress mentioned, it's really challenging to maintain a work-life balance while still being a mother. She elaborates "Striking a work-life balance is undoubtedly more difficult for women. Because the society is so male-dominated, I don't think people comprehend the lives and feelings of a working mother.

Even as a woman, I didn't understand it until I became a mother." Her respect and love for women is much more than before, since she had previously spoken for women, but now she feels care and passion for the cause, which only further supports it.

The actress finishes her interview by saying that raising a child is more essential as everything else in the world, which is utterly opposite to the "go go go culture." The PK actress merely hopes that women in the workplace get more support from their coworkers.

Anushka’s latest film Chakdaha Express will release on Netflix on February 2, 2023.
