Jhulan Goswami – the former Indian cricket captain – retired from international cricket in September 2022, with her final match coming against England at Lord's, with India winning by 16 runs. Three weeks after, Anushka Sharma came to Kolkata Sunday afternoon to continue the shooting of Chakda ’Xpress – a biopic on Jhulan. The actress was spotted at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport in a white jumpsuit. Amid high security, the actress left for her hotel.

As per sources, the actress will be shooting at Eden Gardens on Monday evening. Meanwhile, Jhulan Goswami is in Vizag with the Bengal team. The shooting of the film started in June this year. Anushka took to her social media to announce the commencement of the shooting. “Back to where I belong… #ChakdaXpress #ShootBegins #ChakdaXpressDay1 @jhulangoswami @prositroy @kans26 @netflix_in @officialcsfilms,” she wrote with a video.

Produced by Anushka Sharma and Karnesh Ssharma’s Clean Slate Filmz, the film is directed by Prosit Roy.

After Jhulan announced her retirement, Anushka posted, "An inspiration. A role-model. A legend. Your name will be etched in history forever. Thank you @jhulangoswami, for being a game changer in Indian Women’s Cricket."
