Chakda Xpress: Anushka Sharma shares an alluring, unseen pic of herself as Jhulan Goswami

A fresh picture from Anushka Sharma's forthcoming movie Chakda 'Xpress was shared on social media on Wednesday. The movie, a biography of the Indian cricketer Jhulan Goswami, will mark the actress's return to the big screen after a protracted absence.

Anushka posted a shot from the movie to Instagram with the caption, “A moment from a story that needs to be told!” Anushka has replicated a scene from Jhulan's life in the image she uploaded, in which she can be seen calling someone while standing at a payphone as it is raining outside. Soon, her fans' remarks swamped the comment section. One of her followers commented, "Very cool," and another, "Very excited."

Anushka has been working tirelessly to prepare for the movie and frequently posts photos and videos on her social media accounts. Anushka has begun filming under Prosit Roy's direction, and she will shortly begin a second schedule. After a three-year hiatus, Anushka is returning to the cinema with this film.

When the film was revealed in January and the preview was released, Anushka said, “Chakda Xpress is inspired by the life and times of former Indian captain Jhulan Goswami and it will be an eye-opener into the world of women’s cricket. At a time when Jhulan decided to become a cricketer and make her country proud on the global stage, it was very tough for women to even think of playing the sport. This film is a dramatic retelling of several instances that shaped her life and also women’s cricket.”
