Chakda Xpress: Anushka Sharma wraps up first shooting schedule, see her ‘sporty’ announcement

Anushka Sharma is gearing up to make her onscreen comeback in the ‘sportiest’ of ways with the Jhulan Goswami biopic Chakda Xpress. The film is one which the actress’ fans have been looking forward to for a number of reasons, patiently waiting for updates ever since the movie was announced earlier this year. Anushka started filming for the same last month and seems to have rolled up her sleeves to get back to work with aplomb. The actress announced that she has wrapped up the first shooting schedule of the film recently.

The actress announced the news on her official Instagram handle, sharing a photograph that kept in line with the sports drama’s genre. Anushka shared a photograph of a cricket ball with the words “It’s a schedule wrap!” written on it. The actress captioned the post “SCHEDULE ONE DONE More to follow.. #ChakdaXpress @jhulangoswami @prositroy @kans26 @netflix_in @officialcsfilms”.

Chakda Xpress marks Anushka’s first film in almost four years. The actress was last seen in the 2018 film, Zero, which also starred Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif. The film, directed by Aanand L. Rai, had opened to mixed reviews and had failed to make a mark at the box office as well. Interestingly, Shah Rukh will also be making his onscreen comeback next year with Pathaan.

Chakda Xpress will be Anushka’s first film after the birth of her daughter. Speaking to Harper's Bazaar India, the actress had spoke of how she had intentions of starting the film sooner, but the film had been delayed due to the pandemic. She also talked about how she had had her doubts when starting the film as she wasn't in the best of physical shape. But she had pushed through in the end.

Chakda Xpress will premiere on Netflix. The film will reportedly be released on the streaming giant’s platform on February 2, 2023.
