Shriya Pilgaonkar (The Broken News) is gearing up for the release of her next series, Chhal Kapat. She has caught on the Instagram trend, but is very much in character while every other actor associated with the show breaks character and dances freely. The video is now trending on the internet. Watch it here...

Chal Kapat gets on the viral tune train

Chhal Kapat keeps the theme of deception in mind while hopping on an Instagram trend. Here, Shriya Pilgaonkar (Svah!), who plays a cop stays in character while nine actors associated with the series break character. They all dance in Indian wear, or rather, shake a leg to the viral tune 'Vartaman aankhon ka dhokha'. Meanwhile, Shriya, in her cop avatar stops the song and says, 'Vartaman aankhon ka dhokha toh hai' (The present indeed is deceitful). This line fits well with the theme of the show, where deceit is the central character.

About Chhal Kapat

Chhal Kapat is an upcoming Zee5 series (available for streaming on OTTplay Premium). It is about a murder and nine suspects roaming free. Shriya takes on the role of a cop for the very first time for the series. She is determined to find out who committed the murder, even if the case is twisted and complicated. The suspense around the number 9 continues, and is prevalent even in the latest promo unveiled by the makers. The same is a stark reminder of Raghav Juyal-Kritika Kamra's recently released series, Gyaarah Gyaarah.

Guilty Minds
Guilty Minds

Shriya Pilgaonkar made news recently because her web series Guilty Minds season 2 got scrapped from the line-up of Prime Video shows. The series, much like Mona Singh's Netflix show Kaala Paani, was about to go on floors, but was cancelled right before that happened. It is to be noted that both the shows received critical acclaim nonetheless. Whether we get a new season of The Broken News, though, remains unclear at this point.
