Chand Mera Dil: Ananya Panday and Lakshya to play engineering students in their romantic drama? Here's what we know

Ananya Panday and Lakshya united for Chand Mera Dil in 2024. The film, directed by Vivek Soni, was announced in November last year. It is backed by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions and is set to go on floors soon. The latest development about the movie is that it is a college romance drama. Ananya and Lakshya will reportedly play engineering students in the film.

According to Mid-Day, the shooting of Ananya Panday and Lakshya's film Chand Mera Dil will begin later this week. "For the past three months, the film, which sees Ananya and Lakshya play engineering students, was in pre-production. Vivek will take it on floors on March 15. The first schedule will take place in Pune, where the team has zeroed in on a leading college where most of the campus portions will be shot," a source told the tabloid.

The media report further states that director Vivek Soni brings a fresh voice to relationships. In Meenakshi Sundareshwar, the filmmaker explored a long-distance marriage, while Aap Jaisa Koi will highlight a take on age-gap romance. And with Ananya and Lakshya-starrer, he tries to understand what love means to today's youth.

Chand Mera Dil marks Vivek's third collaboration with Karan. His other two projects with the producer are Meenakshi Sundareshwar and Aap Jaisa Koi.

Chand Mera Dil to release in 2025

Karan Johar shared three posters of Chand Mera Dil while announcing the film on social media. He took to his Instagram account and revealed that his movie would be released this year. 

"We have two chands ready to bring an intense & passionate love story like no other!!! Pyaar mein thoda paagal hona hi padta hai... Chand Mera Dil, starring Ananya Panday & Lakshya. Directed by Vivek Soni. Coming to cinemas in 2025 (sic)," Karan wrote on Instagram.
