Kangana Ranaut returned to Tamil cinema earlier this year following an impressive debut a couple of years ago in Thalaivii, the biographical drama based on the life of actress and politician, J. Jayalalithaa. While Kangana's performance was widely appreciated, the film, though could not live up to the hype it generates prior to its release. As a result, Thalaivii emerged as 'box office disaster' with Baahubali and RRR writer V. Vijayendra Prasad's narrative, too, drawing criticism.
But the very tenacious actress tried her luck one more time in Tamil cinema with Chandramukhi 2, the sequel to the 2005 release starring Superstar Rajinkanth. The P. Vasu directorial also stars Raghava Lawrence who plays a dual role with Radhika Sarathkumar, Vadivelu, Mahima Nambiar, Srushti Dange, Rao Ramesh and others, too, part of the cast. Although the film is set in a similar world to that of its predecessor, Chandramukhi 2 is based on entirely new story written by P. Vasu himself.
When and where to watch Chandramukhi 2 on OTT
Chandramukhi 2 released in theatres on September 28 and despite the best efforts, the film would attract poor reviews from critics who pulled up the creative team for the lacklustre, archaic screenplay and also veteran director P. Vasu's direction. Kangana Ranaut's performance, too, failed to salvage the film which ended up being a commercial failure.
However, one could still hope to find the film to find a second lease of life and better reception during its OTT run. After the underwhelming theatrical performance, Chandramukhi 2 is to debut on streaming with Netflix as the chosen partner. The Kangana Ranaut starrer will premiere on Netlfix on October 26.

Kangana Ranaut turns director with Emergency
Kangana Ranaut may not have the best of starts to her Tamil stint but the talented actress has two exciting ventures to look forward to. One of those two films, Emergency, marks her directorial debut wherein she also plays the lead role of former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
Emergency, as the title suggests, is centred around the 21-month long Emergency that was declared between 1975 and 1977 with Indira Gandhi also in focus of the story penned by Kangana herself (screenplay by Ritesh Shah). She will also be seen playing the titular role of an Indian Airforce Pilot in Sarvesh Mewara's Tejas.
